Sharing When AI is Used in the Classroom
For anyone teaching students or working in a classroom… do you share with your student when AI is used in the classroom?
This line from a post by Sarah Hernholm on LinkedIn has stuck in my head.
But I keep hearing this pattern in schools:
Students must disclose AI use. Teachers can use AI privately, without saying a word.
That double standard breaks trust.
For example if you used AI to create a writing prompt or to write questions on a quiz, do you share that?
Schools have been pretty clear that they want students to disclose when they have used AI, but does the school let the students know when they use AI?
